THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL CONTINUES

The Miss SA Demolition Team is really taking it too far this year. The wax on the entry box has hardly dried and they're already busy with call-backs. This means that they're either super efficient (yeah right) or there weren't all that many entries to sift through to begin with.

What is apparent (yet again) is that the bulk of the finalists will be from Gauteng and surrounds, and that the girls from the coast will merely be playing supporting roles once again. Well I'm assuming that HRH has run out of "friends" in Durban to hand the crown on a silver platter to and that the new Miss SA will come from her current "backyard".

Remember the days when most of the sought-after local photographic supermodel types (not those hideous, androgynous, emotionless ramp model types with hip dysplasia) came from the Cape and to a lesser extent from Natal. Oh wait! They still do, but couldn't give a rat's nipple for the Miss SA pageant.

In any event, perhaps they'll surprise us and give us a real beauty that isn't just world class from the "waist down". For now, the downward spiral continues and I'm not holding my breath for a world-beater to wear the crown in December. Ok! I lie! I dream of the day (not really, but it sounds enthusiastic) when we have a Miss SA that can kick some Venezuelan butt.
