Malluwood Vishu 2010 attractions in Box Office

Vishu is one of the biggest seasons in Malayalam films as it heralds the start of summer and holidays. Vishu 2010 will see four releases: Mohanlal’s Alexander the Great, Dileep’s Pappy Appacha, Kalabhavan Mani’s long delayed Pulliman and an unknown, TD Dasan Standard VI.

The first off the block will be the Mammas-directed Pappy Appacha, which will release in 80 screens on April 14. It features Innocent and Dileep as an illiterate father and son duo who own everything in a village from the school to the hospital, theatre and the local bar.

There is stiff resistance from a school teacher, played by Kavya Madhavan, against their domination, which leads to a comic twist and more fun.

On Vishu (April 15), Mohanlal’s Murali Nagavally-directed Alexander the Great is scheduled to release in nearly 85 screens. It is said to be a typical masala entertainer with a great twist. However, trade people haven’t confirmed its release yet, and the film is yet to be certified by the censors.

Anil K Nair’s debut film Puliman, featuring Kalabhavan Mani and Meera Nandan, is also scheduled for release on April 15. The other Vishu release is TD Dasn Standard VI. Directed by Mohan Raghavan and starring newcomers, nothing much is known about this film.
