JIP, JIP! IT'S MISS SA!

Nicole Flint and Chante Jantjies are currently Miss South Africa and Miss SA Teen respectively, but back in 2007 they were competitors in the Miss Jip Teen pageant organised by Beeld. The then 18-year-old Nicole won the pageant and the 14-year-old Chante was unplaced.

What sets the Jip Teen pageant apart from other pageants is that physical beauty only counted 25% of the final score, whilst leadership skills (50%) and interview skills (25%) accounted for the balance. Fortunately for both young ladies they have beauty in addition to their leadership and interview skills, and that is why they currently hold the two leading national titles in SA.

Other former Miss SA and Miss SA Teen contestants to have made the finals of the Jip Teen pageant are Thuli Sithole (runner-up in 2003), Kerry Hiesterman (2003), Ramona Moodly (2004), Monique Senekal (runner-up in 2004) and Charné Marwick (2006 & 2007).
